(These are not new, but they are in a new location!)

-Preschool games and toys!

You will find these out on tables throughout the week. These will rotate often.

-Story Orchestra

If you haven’t checked one of these out, you should! Stories are based on great works of

Notes from the Director - Debbie Jameson

Hello Readers,

While it is February...it is still winter! Cozy up to a new author we have in the library or a new book on Libby (read Milinda’s article on Libby holds in this newsletter).

If you pop in on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, you will see a new face in our library. We welcome Jennifer Gatson who is picking up a few hours on these days.

Jennifer wrote, “I ‘m excited to be joining the Ralls County Library Team! Miss Kay, in the old building, was a memorable part of my kids’ growing up experience. The library has grown and brought new adventures through the years, and now I’ve had the joy of introducing my grandkids to this wonderful place. Teaching in Ralls County for 30 years brought me to know and love our community. Now, I look forward to meeting more patrons, helping out at the front desk, and continuing the Ralls County Library traditions.”

Stop by and say HI and welcome Jennifer to our library.

Stay warm and as always, let us know what your literacy needs are and how we can help.

Debbie

Calling all Olympic fans!

The Winter Olympics take place this month in Milano Cortina Italy.

We will spend our month focusing on topics in relation to this. We will investigate the country of Italy. We will make Olympic torches to parade with to Bugler’s Dream; Olympic Theme and Fanfare. We will read and learn about several winter sports including figure skating, hockey, and maybe even curling! We will get out maps and globes to investigate the world around us. One week will include magnet play. We may also spend time playing with ice. I hope all the littles can join us for this big month of reading, learning, and fun!

Book Review from Debbie

There’s a new author at the Ralls County Library.

Meagan Church writer of The Mad Wife, The Girls We Sent Away and The Last Carolina Girl, takes us on a journey of emotionally-charged, thought-provoking, empathy-inducing stories that explore the complexity of human nature. Hard to put down and easy to relate to, her stories drive home the reality of life whether or not you want to admit it. It’s a MUST read!
