Our Summer Libary Reading Program is kicking off June 1-July 23. The theme is ‘Unearth YOUR Story Through Literacy, Science and History’. It also provided almost $2000 for presenters for additonal learning opportunties. We have national presenter as well as local experts. Thursday Story Hour (10-11 AM) is open to all ages birth through adult. Come see what the library unearths for you this summer!

May is going to take a fun little spin around the solar system. For no reason other than it sounds fun we are going to kick off the month celebrating May 4th...Star Wars Day! The kids will be introduced to Star Wars through books droid creating, and lightsaber making! The rest of the month we will focus on outer space. We will cover rockets, astronauts, planets, & stars. There will be two cardboard rockets set up in the children’s area that patrons can color on. I hope to find time to launch a baking soda rocket in the outdoor classroom.

Don’t forget summer reading is so close! You may begin signing up on May 4th. There is something for all ages. There is an abundance of new literature releasing this month in a section titled Summer Reading! I hope you will find time to check it out!
